Robert Founds

Art has been an integral part of Robert’s life in many forms over the years. For most of his career, creativity was expressed through his work in restaurant and food and beverage operations. However, in 2020, he felt compelled to pick up a paintbrush—driven by a desire to publicly channel raw emotion onto canvas.

Beyond his artistic pursuits, Robert has been deeply involved in local politics, serving as the former vice mayor and interim mayor of Bixby, OK. He is also an avid marathon runner and triathlete, an advocate for his peers in the Oklahoma Restaurant Association, and a passionate fighter against food insecurity. His commitment to this cause has led him to dedicate all proceeds from his art to Tulsa’s only emergency food pantry that offers delivery services.

Robert’s work is a dynamic blend of abstract and impressionist styles, often incorporating mixed media. A sentimental element runs through his process, as he frequently creates his pieces using the same ¼-inch palette knife once wielded by his grandmother to craft hundreds of paintings throughout her lifetime.
